High-level meeting at the UNCTAD headquarters in Geneva

On October 14, 2022, in Geneva, a delegation of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, headed by its Executive Director Gayane Umerova, had a series of meetings with the Deputy Director-General of the International Trade Centre UNCTAD/WTO Dorothy Tembo and the Director of the International Trade and Commodities Department of UNCTAD Teresa Moreira.

During the meetings, participants discussed a range of issues related to the development of the creative industries in Uzbekistan, in particular the creative industry roadmap, the development of local craftsmanship through training programs for Uzbek artisans, and the entry of Uzbek artisans into international markets through partnerships with famous brands. They emphasized the creation of special accelerators and business incubators for artisans at the Foundation's art residence in Tashkent. The meeting also raised issues of conditions for people with disabilities. An agreement was reached on a partnership in preparation for the IV World Conference on Creative Economy to be held in Uzbekistan in 2024.
